Baku born Azerbaijani-Turkish violinist Ferhad Mehmet, began his journey of music in 1999 at Bilkent University Music Preparatory School under the guidance of two members of Bilkent Symphony Orchestra (BSO); Rasim Bağırov (violin) and his father İrşad Mehmet. Ferhad gave his first concert as soloist with orchestra (BSO) in 2005, while playing famous La Campanella of Paganini. In the meantime he played in many concerts and recitals in and abroad. He became a part of project that was organised by world-known Turkish violinist Cihat Aşkın (CAKA), and he played in various concerts in many cities of Turkey (Ankara, İzmir, İstanbul, Bursa, Mersin, Denizli etc.) and also in Cyprus. He participated in many international competitions in Turkey and abroad and he won 2nd prize in Rotary Club International Violin Competition in Edirne.
Furthermore, he took part of many masterclasses of world-famous musicians, such as Suna Kan, Cihat Aşkın, Özcan Ulucan, Prof. Alexander Vinnitski, Prof. Mincho Mintchev, Olivier Charlier, Alexander Markov, Sayaka Shoji, Nora Chastain, Monia Rizkallah, (the chamber music & orchestra masterclasses) Prof. Emile Cantor, Friedemann Pardall, Sonja Stark, Tony Nys and so on...
Besides from soloist career, Ferhad started to participate in many orchestral ensembles, such as youth orchestras; World Youth Orchestra, Bilkent Youth Symphony Orchestra, Mediterannean Youth Orchestra, Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra etc. He also played in professional international orchestras like Bilkent Symphony, Turku Philharmonic, and local orchestras such as Antalya State Symphony and Bursa State Symphony Orchestras. Additionally he played in prestigious festivals like Beethoven Fest in Bonn, Festival Aix, Musica Riva, International Ankara Music Festival and so on...
As an academist of Mahler Chamber Orchestra (MCO), he participated in many projects of MCO and played at the stages of Kölner and Essener Philharmonic Halls and Konzerthaus Dortmund...
After a long time spent in Turkey, he continued his education firstly in Finland at Turku Academy with Prof. Alexander Vinnitski, and then at Folkwang University of Arts in Essen, Germany under the guidance of Prof. Pieter Daniel.
He now continues his musical career as a freelance musician in Germany. He is giving concerts as a member of various orchestras like Klassische Philharmonie Bonn and touring many of German cities. He mainly makes concerts at Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Herkulessaal Münich, Kurhaus Wiesbaden and so on...
